Overview of The Program

Warren Village helps motivated low-income, single parents move from public assistance to self-sufficiency through subsidized housing, on-site childcare, counseling, and education or job training.

Warren Village provides three on-site integrated programs:

  1. Warren Village BuildingHousing includes 93 one, two and three bedroom apartments accommodating families of up to four children and one adult.
  2. Children on see-sawThe Greta Horwitz Learning Center provides quality childcare and early childhood education for 130 children, ages six weeks to twelve years. The Learning Center uses a multi-cultural and gender-fair curriculum developed for at-risk urban kids.
  3. Classroom of AdultsThe Family Services Program provides comprehensive case-management; vocational assessment; evening life-skills classes; child enrichment activities; mentors; and resident-initiated leadership opportunities.
Applicants who are accepted into the program must be committed to making changes in their lives. To remain in the program they must demonstrate consistent progress toward personal and economic self-sufficiency goals.
